The Human Ethology Bulletin has evolved and expanded from its early
days as the Human Ethology Newsletter. It will continue to evolve. Members
are encouraged to send me any criticisms or suggestions for the Bulletin.
Is there a topic that you would like to see addressed? Can we provide
any information that we now neglect? How can the format be improved?
For the Bulletin to be a success, I am particularly counting on the
continued services of the bulletin staff: namely, the book review
editors and the
Current Literature Editor, Johan van der Dennen. I also count on many
others who contribute to this publication, including those who send
announcements of meetings, who report on meetings, who send items
for the Current Literature
or New Books listings (that have not yet appeared there), who patiently
inform us of errors in the membership list, who have asked their library
to subscribe (successfully or not), who show the bulletin to colleagues
who might join ISHE and, of course, those who contribute articles and
book reviews.
Book Reviews: A major part of the Bulletin is the publication of
book reviews. ISHE members and other scholars are hereby invited
to contact
the Chief Book Review Editor if they are interested in composing
a review for the Bulletin. All book reviews are reviewed by one
or more
scholars
and most require at least minor revision. Acceptance of book reviews
or articles is not automatic, even in cases where the submission
of the review was solicited by a member of the Bulletin staff.
Furthermore,
not all offers to review a particular book will be accepted: some
books are sufficiently relevant to the concerns and interests
of ISHE members,
sometimes we already have a reviewer, and sometimes we have someone
else
in mind that we think will be more suitable. If you have agreed to
provide a review, please do so in a timely fashion.
Written guidelines are available for reviewers of books.
